Hypnosis for Pain Management

A research paper from 2020 reported that adults using hypnosis for chronic pain experienced a “medium-large” reduction in pain intensity and studies show that 75% of people with arthritis and related diseases experience significant pain relief using hypnosis.

Hypnosis is not about convincing you that you don’t feel pain, it’s about helping you reduce the sensitivity to pain and manage the fear and anxiety you feel about that pain.

It will relax you and redirect your attention from the sensation of pain.

Hypnosis makes use of the body-mind connection and demonstrates how thoughts and feelings can influence physical health, in the same way as physical  health can influence mental health.

Hypnosis for pain management is a helpful, non-drug therapy that has no side-effects. It will help you manage discomfort more effectively, feel mentally calm and relaxed, sleep soundly, feel motivated to do more of the things you enjoy.

The number of sessions you'll need will depend on your individual circumstances, however hypnosis for pain management usually lasts between four and 10 sessions.

I signed up for a Weight Loss group program. The sessions and support provided were excellent and the benefits were evident almost immediately. I no longer felt I was missing out if I didn’t eat certain things, I looked forward to the daily exercise and was more in tune with when my body was telling me it was full.
